As I was coming out of a full-on week of Covid, I had this realization: I am NOT BEHIND ON THINGS, and I haven’t wasted time! 💡
I’m just in the right place at the right time having the experience I’m meant to have RIGHT NOW 🧘♀️
I have this unhelpful pattern of thinking that still pops into my mind even after years of therapy and coaching:
I always feel behind on things in my work life. Whatever success I encounter I always see that there’s someone who is waaaaay ahead of me.
And so I discount all my good work too quickly.
For 5 days I had solid 40°C fever while also taking care of a sick baby. And every single day I felt gutted and dishearten by the fact that I haven’t recovered yet.
And that I had to cancel yet another meeting in my calendar…
“Oh, just another wasted day!” 😥
When my fever finally subsided, I started to think about all the wonderful things that I could be getting on with right now (that I’m “behind on”).
And so I couldn’t just relax and enjoy the recovery.
And suddenly my mindset shifted into this… NEW perspective:
“YOU DON’T NEED TO DO A THING!”
And BOOM! Just like that, I finally saw “I’m behind” as just another BS thought in my head that holds as much truth as I allow it to.
I recognized also that using just the same logic, I can say… “I’m sooooo ahead in my business!”
For example, this year:
✅ I’ve transitioned to working half the time getting paid twice as much
✅ I created a really kickass business mastery program for coaches while pregnant last year!
✅ I launched a new cohort of coaches in my program this summer. When my baby was just… 3 MONTHS OLD!
I’m not sharing this just to brag, although it is really nice to acknowledge this! 🙏
…but to demonstrate how SILLY our THINKING can be in comparison to the objective situation.
And also, in reality, I am NEITHER BEHIND NOR AHEAD. I’m only comparing myself to the THOUGHTS in my own head 💭
THAT’S ALL!
Do you ever have this really uncomfortable feeling? That just wouldn’t let you relax and enjoy the moment that says:
“You’re behind on things!”
…especially after a setback or experiencing an illness?
What if you just drop the regrets, and knew in your heart, that the TIMING is just PERFECT, wherever you are right now.
What would you allow yourself to start today? Or allow yourself to stop doing today?

What are some of your WAYS to help you OVERCOME this pattern of thinking when it comes up?
