Get coaching clients on LinkedIn via sharing content

By Attracting clients, Enrolling clients, LinkedIn No Comments
A Coach recently asked me: “Should I reach out to people who engage with my content on LinkedIn?”

Here’s my answer 👇
There are 2 great ways to bring aligned clients to your practice – you could wait for them to come to you or take the lead to invite them to a dance 💃If you choose to WAIT – then you’d need to create lots of great content and events for people to get to know you, and wait for someone to reach out when the time feels right for them.It brings some of the highest quality Prospects to you, but typically it’s a very, very long-term strategy.Your ideal client may feel shy to reach out or is simply procrastinating to connect, even if what you have to offer is VERY relevant for them right now.So, they may actually appreciate some encouragement and a warm welcome from you. Also, if you have only recently started building awareness of your work – you will sign up clients sooner if you engage
with your audience PROACTIVELY.Especially if you’re reaching out to warm Prospects who had an experience of you via your content or live events.

So, the answer is a resounding YES,

when you see the same person engage with a few pieces of your content or join your Live session – I would reach out and ask them for their key takeaways.

And, if they respond, get the conversation flowing and eventually (if relevant) invite them to an intro call with you.

I’ve been running my coaching practice for the past 6 years.

And I’ve always found that reaching out to your potential clients directly is the surest and fastest way of getting your practice booked out with aligned clients.

How about you?

Do you see better results in your practice when a potential client initiates the connection, or when you take the lead?

Is it too late to contact potential coaching clients in Dec?🎄

By Enrolling clients, LinkedIn, Mindset No Comments

Should you contact new potential clients in Dec or wait till Jan now? 🤔

I’ve been running my coaching practice for 6 years now and EVERY YEAR I expect Dec to be the quietest month (people are busy wrapping things up, prepping for the holidays etc).

Yet… EVERY.SINGLE.YEAR I end up signing up more coaching clients in Dec than any other month.

A paradox..?

I think not.

It’s the time when your ideal clients are gearing up for creating exciting changes in the year ahead – you can be there for them, to witness and support their transformation journeys.

So if you’ve been waiting for a sign to press that magic ‘Send’ button -THIS IS IT! ✨

You can always follow up on your message in January if you haven’t heard back.

While some people are very busy in Dec wrapping things up, others respond that things actually quietened down for them now and they have this extra space to focus on their goals for the next year.

Btw – I’d love to share a little holiday gift with you. 🎁 Find your invite to Grow Your Coaching Business Q&A session in the comments below, and book your spot. There are sessions available for Dec & Jan.

I’ll answer ANY questions on launching or growing your coaching business: deciding on your niche, lead generation, social media content, acing enrolment conversations, overcoming objections – bring it on!

Come, we’ll look for the missing puzzle piece to getting your coaching practice booked out with aligned clients in 2023 🧩

Sending Hugs and my best holiday wishes!

“I prefer to keep a full-time job to pay my MORTGAGE so that I can keep my coaching PURE and FREE”

By Business tips, Enrolling clients, Mindset No Comments

“I prefer to keep a full-time job to pay my MORTGAGE so that I can keep my coaching PURE and FREE” 👈 I heard this from a few coaches now. Sorry, but it doesn’t make sense to me!

My first question is:

WHY NOT do something that you LOVE full-time and figure out how to be financially successful doing it too..?

I started thinking that there is a limiting belief there hiding behind those lofty statements:

that receiving money for helping others (and transforming people’s lives!)

is somehow… IMPURE…?

Imagine there is a super talented surgeon who is saving lives of his patients.

But then somehow he decides that he’d rather keep his practice “pure”. And keep the surgeries to evenings and weekends, while holding down a full-time job he dispises during the week to pay the bills.

Would that be a kind and thoughtful thing to do for his community?

And how about himself and his own well-being?

❣️ The more hours we can spend coaching a day –>

the better we become at it –>

the more we can help people –>

and create a positive ripple effect around the world! ✨

And it is so essential to put your own oxygen mask on (how often do we say this to our clients?) –> MEANING financial success in your own coaching practice before you’re able to challenge your clients to do really courageous things and help them thrive.

Over the past 6 years of running my coaching practice, I learned not only how to cover the bills and monthly rent with the coaching work.

But also how to live ABUNDANTLY while helping others and doing something that I truly love.

I’ve just taken my family on a spontaneous trip to Andorra, and we’re staying in this beautiful stone house, enjoying our meals at great restaurants.

And all of this is covered by the wonderful coaching work that I GET TO DO.

Not saying this to show off, but to let you know that it’s available to you too!

And not just bill and nice holidays – my clients with older kids realise they can pay off their kid’s private schooling doing this work too!

You just need to have the courage and confidence, the right business tools and proper support to help you make this happen.

It is a JOURNEY!

I know it doesn’t happen overnight.

WhatsApp me on +44 795 1986 400 if you’re also curious about learning how to get your coaching practice Fully Booked.

As we’re now launching a small 6 people cohort of trained coaches for Jan 2023 start and I would love to talk to you before we get booked out.

What’s your view on getting well paid for doing coaching work?

It’s GREEDY?

… or GROUNDED?

How to attract 12 New Coaching Clients ORGANICALLY on LinkedIn in the next 90 Days?

How to attract 12 New Coaching Clients ORGANICALLY on LinkedIn in the next 90 Days?

I’m about to compare your approach to getting coaching clients on LinkedIn to mushroom picking. True story, stick with me an learn how to land your next 12 clients using only organic methods.

Every Autumn I get VERY excited about mushroom picking! And I only have about 3 months of this exciting treasure hunt. Some days I find a handful of good ones and we make a risotto with it! It’s probably lame but it gives me an adrenaline rush!

So does looking for new clients…

It’s too easy to take this process very seriously, turn it into a stressful task!

BUT it doesn’t have to be that way.

As a Business Coach for New Coaches, I’ve been running my practice for 6 years and been on this cycle of confidence -> crash -> confidence rollercoaster every quarter since the start! And I tell you for sure – IT DOES GET A LOT SMOOTHER with every new season change!!

But you gotta turn it into an adventure, or it’s impossible to build a thriving coaching business and hit your financial goals as a coach.

Finding coaching clients organically on LinkedIn is EASY (you don’t need any complicated tech) BUT can you keep it playful?

STEP 1
PICK A FRUITFUL FOREST SPOT = YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE

Ask experienced mushroom-pickers [Business Mentors] where to look.

Once you get an idea – use LinkedIn filters to create your target list. Keep tweaking your search until you have max 1000 people in your list, so that your niche is not too broad, or your messaging won’t be landing very effectively!

STEP 2
KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE 🍄

Spend some quality time on each person’s profile and notice what catches your eye about them.

Send personalised messages to each Human (min 5 a day) mentioning what you find interesting/special about their background or recent experience.

Did they just get promoted? Did they raise money for a charity you admire by cycling through Cornwall?

Be genuine and mention something that truly interests you in their profile in your connection request or longer message to them. In that message – also introduce yourself and invite them to a free Strategy Call.

STEP 3
INVITE THEM TO YOUR BASKET 🧺

Have a powerful Strategy Call or an enrolment conversation, where you can pre-qualify whether you’re a good match to work together.

If you’re speaking to someone you can genuinely help (you found an edible mushroom!) – invite them to your coaching program.

To summarise, this is how you get 12 new coaching clients in 90 days:

5-10 personalised LinkedIn messages to people in your niche a day

5 enrolment conversations a week

1 new client a week

12 new clients a quarter

And so you walk home with a basket full of tasty mushrooms. Enjoy your risotto!

How do you manage high sensitivity when offering your services?

By Client love, Enrolling clients, Mindset No Comments

The KEY part of building a successful coaching practice as a Highly Sensitive Person is dealing with anxiety that comes up when offering your services.

[extract from an interview with Anna Wolas, alumni of the Fully Booked Coach program]

KATRIN: You can have a lot of anxiety come up when jumping on an enrolment call, thinking: “Ok, there is some selling’s gonna happen here.”

How do you manage that?

ANNA: As coaches we have the tools of going through a sales call like… coaches, right?

We just approach it as a coaching session!

That really helped me to remember to be AUTHENTIC in those conversations.

I know I have a great program, and it is well-aligned with who I am and how I work as a coach. Also with my experience, with my background,

so, yeah, I am confident with it!

And I can leave it on the side and just focus on that PERSON, start coaching them on that call.

And at the end, if I see that there is alignment, and that person would actually BENEFIT highly my program – I just go ahead and describe what the journey looks like.

And it happens organically!

If you think of it as a coaching conversation, then it’s flowing!

And you’re finding people who are ready, who are resonating with you. So there is chemistry!

***

Many coaches are deeply empathetic which opens us up to feeling highly sensitive at times. And it can get in the way of running a thriving coaching practice.

I’m so proud for Anna to find a way to manage those tendencies and empower her clients who need support with it too.

Do you LEAN IN or SHY AWAY?

By Business tips, Enrolling clients, Mindset No Comments

Coaches, are you aware that you’re losing at least 50% of awesome clients simply because you’re SHYING AWAY from dealing with objections in enrolment calls? It’s ok, I missed out on working with many potential clients too, until I learnt to LEAN INTO such discussions.

If you’re signing out of the Zoom meeting on the variation of –

“Sounds great, let me think about it”

…then you’re likely to hear something like this the next day:

“I reeeeally enjoyed meeting you, [insert a generous compliment]. But, it’s not for me right now”.

The reason this happens so often is:

Embarking on a coaching journey is SCARY AF!

Not only for the cost and time commitment, but because you’re going to work on helping them make their most DARING DREAMS come true!

You know, how they say that we are more afraid of our success than failure? [something like that….]

So if you jump off the call without addressing her doubts, she will spend that evening in the ‘saboteur land’ – coming up with 27 reasons why this won’t work for her.

BUT

What if you took the courage to LEAN INTO these uncomfortable conversations, where you got to unpack her doubts and limiting beliefs RIGHT ON THE ENROLMENT CALL?…

So that you get to EMPOWER HER to finally take the stance for her heart’s desires, as well as empower yourself with ever greater abundance in your coaching practice!

I know that most coaches struggle with this process so I felt inspired to schedule a round of MASTERING ENROLMENT OBJECTIONS trainings in July.

I will share with you my own ABCD process for overcoming ANY objection that flies your way. As well as the One Magic Question to ask to uncover the REAL doubts behind her uncertainty to join.

If you’re ready to go deep on this topic and start converting 50-70% more of your enrolment conversations – then you’re welcome to join one or all three of the training sessions in July (starting this Thu).

Link to sign up is in the comments 👇

And now, I’d love to hear – what is the most puzzling objection you’ve ever heard? Let me know in the comments.

Money Mindset

By Business tips, Enrolling clients, Mindset No Comments

Coaches, what is the N1 reason we are missing out on signing up more clients at a higher rate?
In my view, it’s about our Money Mindset.

Since I was 6 years old, I remember seeing my mum and dad have HUGE fights about money.

From a small person’s perspective, these seemed nearly life-threatening to me.

It’s no surprise that when I grew up – I avoided the topic like fire 🔥

Not a great place to be when you’re working as a Headhunter in Investment Banking…

Life challenged me with negotiating million-dollar salary packages for my candidates, so I had to face my Money Gremlins 👹 head on!

After too much palm-sweating in such conversations, I brought up this topic with my therapist for the first time.

And WOW, just this AWARENESS of where this disempowering ‘money story’ started was a huge breakthrough for me!

I still broke a sweat when negotiating, but now I didn’t hide away when the conversation got more heated.

As a Coach, I imagine this topic must have surfaced for you already in your own coaching sessions. And you must have a high degree of awareness of your Money Story.

What I find quite ‘fun’ in our work – no matter how much awareness we have of something or how much rewiring work has happened – the disempowering story is never ‘closed, done and dusted’ (at least in my experience).

Instead, it loosens its grip so that you can open up to ever more Abundance over months and years.

I notice that every year I need a ‘top-up’ session on this topic – so that my nervous system can open up to yet another level of Abundance.

But wait… why am I talking about this?..

Ah!

…cause it’s this little Money Gremlin in the back of your mind who makes you withdraw from the conversation when the Prospect brings up the variation of “Sounds great, BUT I can’t afford it right now” – during an enrolment call.

Sometimes it is truly the case, but most of the time – it is yet another limiting belief that you can help this person overcome if you choose to LEAN INTO this conversation. So that they get to experience transformative results of coaching with you.

Which new EMPOWERING Money Story do you choose to write (or remind yourself of) today? 🎥

Sounds awesome, but… no thanks

By Enrolling clients, Mindset No Comments

Hey Coaches, I can’t tell you how many times I jumped off an enrolment call BUZZING with energy thinking “We are so perfect for each other! She will DEFO sign up!” Only to wake up next morning to an email with a generous compliment and a ‘No thanks’ at the end.

Back then I felt yucky trying to uncover that person’s doubts on the enrolment call…

I felt uneasy talking about money…

I took their objections at the ‘face value’ and just moved on…

As a result, I lost out on about 70-90% of all potential clients whose lives I could have impacted!

I don’t do regrets, so I took each rejection as a [painful] learning opportunity.

Over the last 6 years of running my coaching practice and 400+ enrolment calls later, I finally learnt a process that helped me unpack what’s really behind this person’s doubts.

And I learnt to COACH them through objections. Cause, in 90% of cases, these objections are not even a real thing…. But a limiting belief in their mind.

Which, as a skillful Coach, you can totally help them to overcome!

I have a round of free workshops prepared for you in July, dear Coaches! On Mastering those sneaky objections that you probably get to hear on most of your enrolment calls.

If you’re fed up missing out on signing up aligned clients because of yet another “Sorry, I’ll call you when I have more cash” type of thing – you don’t want to miss these sessions!

You’re welcome to sign up to a few of them as this skill takes some time to get into your muscle memory, and we’ll get to practice responding to a few different objections on each call.

Save your spot(s) at the MASTER ENROLMENT OBJECTIONS WORKSHOP and share with a Coach-friend: https://calendly.com/fully-booked-coach/1?month=2023-04

I promise you – if you have the right mindset and process in place – handling those objections can be a lot of FUN, just like Coaching!

And, I’d love to hear – what’s the most PUZZLING objection you’re ever heard?

Can every talented coach run a successful coaching practice?

By Business tips, Enrolling clients, Mindset No Comments

Can every talented coach run a successful coaching practice? 🧐 If you think about your fellow student coaches you admired for their skill in the training school – how many of them ended up building a thriving practice?

I’ve always felt disheartened and puzzled that very few of them do…
Unfortunately, COACHING and RUNNING A COACHING BUSINESS are two VERY different sets of skills and activities.

Here’s a throwback picture to 2012 when I started working while travelling for the first time. I’ve always valued a high degree of freedom and independence in my work. And access to tropical islands too! 🏝️

Even though in this image I’m still ‘working for a boss’ – I was always blessed with super-bright Managers who quickly figured out my personality, and let me run ‘my own thing’ inside their team.

I feel that this quality has helped me to get through the thick and thin of building a coaching practice, esp in the first two years of much uncertainty.

In my opinion, you’re likely to enjoy long-term success running your own practice if you’re at ease with:

✅ working INDEPENDENTLY (or part of a small team)

✅ making your own DECISIONS and having full OWNERSHIP of the project

✅ a degree of RISK being a constant in your life

✅ quickly shrugging off REJECTIONS and recovering swiftly from occasional epic fails

✅ CREATIVE activities, eg coming up with new solutions when you hit a wall, as well as creating engaging content

✅ less exciting OPERATIONAL activities required

✅ putting in a full DAY’S WORK without anyone kicking your ass
If this sounds like you, I’ve got some good news! You’re likely to not only do splendidly financially in your practice but also ENJOY the process of running it!

I created a coaching-business-in-a-box programme specifically for YOU 🙂 It’s called the Fully Booked Coach and we are launching our cozy Summer cohort (max 6 coaches) on the 23rd of June.

You get ALL the tools you need to set strong foundations for your practice and know exactly what to do every month to hit around £5-10k CONSISTENTLY 🎉

If you’re curious to hear how we are supporting coaches in creating such results – let’s meet! I’m running 2 free Workshops in June called GAMELPAN for £5K MONTHS where I will share our key strategies. And you’re invited!

Pick your session in June: https://calendly.com/fully-booked-coach/1?month=2023-04

BUT

if you’re feeling disheartened by this post and thinking that you don’t really enjoy the things I mentioned –> there are OTHER WAYS you can practice coaching and empower Humans without having to deal with the whole business shebang.

I can share 3 other directions you can take – just type ’tell me more’ in the comments and I’ll post it next week.

How do you figure out your niche?

By Attracting clients, Business tips, Enrolling clients No Comments

“How do you figure out your niche?” – I hear from coaches who have struggled to attract clients consistently for over a year while branding as a Life / Transformation / Co-Active / Professional / etc / COACH. … And eventually realise that they NEED a niche (at least when starting out!) in order to be able to attract clients to their practice consistently.

If you’re still resisting this idea (like I have for the whole 1st year of poverty in my coaching practice), then take a few more months before coming back to this post. Bookmark it in the meantime 😉

I do a lot of work helping coaches figure out their Niche in my www.theFullyBooked.coach Business Mastery programme. Because it is THE most fundamental thing to be able to build out a brand and a business.

How do you even write a post here, without speaking to someone in particular? It won’t stand out amongst all the noise…

Anyway, if you’re soooo done struggling without a niche, take a look at this model I designed, taking inspiration from Ikigai – to help you figure out your Zone of Genius in coaching.

Reflect on these 4 elements and find your SWEET SPOT (then drop it in the comments or DM, so I can share my feedback on its viability):

1) 👑 POWER – an area where you have (at least a degree) of credibility and experience (eg role, sector, a stage of life).

As a skillful coach, you WON’T USE your ‘experience’ in that space in coaching sessions. But in the current (quite saturated) world of coaching, it’s hard to consistently sign up clients who are, for example, entrepreneurs, if you never ran your own business.

It’s possible! But you’re swimming against the current, competing with coaches who are also talented plus have that experience.

Even though I worked with a number of CEOs without ever being one, I found it hard to consistently attract more CEO clients.

2) 💖 PURPOSE – genuine passion to coach people in that space.

Yes, we can coach anyone on any topic. But let’s be honest – we feel more fulfilled and excited helping clients achieve certain results over others, and it comes through in our marketing and enrolment conversations.

3) 🦸‍♀️ PEOPLE

Circle of Colleagues, acquaintances, friends. You intimately understand their joys and struggles, you speak their ‘lingo’, and know the right questions to ask in coaching sessions.

Which Circle of your connections do you feel most called to help? What do they have in common?

4) 💰 PROFIT – choose an audience who can pay the rate that feels right for you and can sustain your practice long-term.

Sure, have a few ‘compassion spots’. So far as you have your profitable ‘core niche’ figured out.

I have a workshop coming up for Coaches GAMEPLAN FOR £5K MONTHS – where we do this exercise more in-depth and I describe what to do next once you get more clarity on your niche.

All May spaces are now taken, you can book yourself in for June: https://calendly.com/fully-booked-coach/1?month=2023-04

Have fun exploring!

How to deal with rejections when offering your coaching services

By Enrolling clients, Mindset No Comments

When I started offering my first coaching packages – I was shocked to find out how much more personal rejections feel when you’re offering your very own skills, heart and mind VS someone else’s products or services…

Especially, when the enrolment call goes so well, and the potential client seems sooo aligned!

After conducting 300+ enrolment conversations over the past 5 years of my coaching practice, I thought I developed a pretty thick skin to bouncing back quickly from a client saying “Sorry, not for me”.

And yet this month I experienced the ultimate ‘salles challenge’ of my entire career – aiming to fill 10 spots in my upcoming group coaching programme, all at the SAME TIME! Even though 8 lovely clients already joined the group, the journey wasn’t as smooth as I hoped…

Hearing a few rejections can stop talented coaches from pursuing running the coaching practice independently because, let’s face it, it’s hard and unpleasant!

And yet, how can we stand in integrity challenging our clients to do courageous things – initiating a promotion conversation, interviewing for an exciting role, etc – if we are not fully challenging ourselves to put our heart & mind ‘out there’?

And psssst, it’s possible to get a lot more comfortable and a lot more skilled at converting enrolment conversations into sign-ups.

There are still 2 spaces remaining on my programme for trained & talented coaches who want to grow their income from coaching to £5-10k a month. Book a call with me to find out if it’s right for you:
